The Ministry of Agriculture has set itself the goal of doubling fish consumption
The Ministry of Agriculture is working to double the current Hungarian fish consumption of 5.7 kilograms per capita as soon as possible – Nagy István, Minister of Agriculture said on Saturday in Mohács.
He recalled that the VAT on fish decreased from 27 percent to 5 percent in January, supporting the ministry’s ambition.
The Minister informed that for the implementation of the Hungarian Fisheries Management Operational Program 2014-2020 (MAHOP) Hungary has 15.5 billion HUF from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, together with the national self-financing. (MTI)
