In order to popularize agricultural professions, the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) is organizing free career orientation camps for primary school students in grades 5-6-7 at 19 locations across the country, the chamber told MTI on Wednesday.

In the full-service, walk-in, so-called Career Tasting camps, young people who are about to choose a career can get to know the professions in the agriculture and forestry, as well as the food industry sectors in practice. It was highlighted that during the thematic program weeks to be held between June 23 and August 8, groups of 20 people will have the opportunity in 19 agricultural vocational training institutions to try out the work processes of the selected professions under the guidance of professionals.

Students can also learn about the practical background of the professions in the training farms and workshops of the partner agricultural vocational training institutions

In addition, the program creates an opportunity to meet successful farmers and agricultural enterprises, and gain direct experience in workplace conditions. The professions that can be learned in the camps include, among others: forestry, surveyor, farmer – livestock breeder, horse breeder, plant grower, gardener, florist, agricultural engineer, confectionery maker, butcher and baker.

The aim of the Vocational Taste program is to help students choose a career, develop their self-knowledge, and arouse their interest in agricultural professions

In addition to practical demonstrations, there will also be professional lectures, where parents can also learn about agricultural vocational training, training programs, dual training, the benefits of a vocational training employment contract, and student benefits – the NAK statement reads.
