The pig sector is not in an easy situation in spite of the VAT reduction
The VAT reduction on pork from 27 to 5 percent resulted in increased in sales, but the industry is still struggling to compete with the cheap Western European imports because of the Russian embargo – according to the Livestock and Meat Interprofessional Organization and Marketing Board (VHT).
Németh Antal, President of the VHT told MTI on Tuesday that the as the result of the measure of the government pork sales increased by 15-20 percent compared with January 2015. The traders inform that the rise in turnover basically not influenced the consumer demand for other products. (MTI)
