Adidas reports 12.7% increase in quarterly revenue
The German adidas, one of the world’s leading sportswear manufacturers, reported a 12.7 percent increase in revenue to 6.153 billion euros in the first quarter of this year from 5.458 billion euros a year earlier.
According to the company’s statement, its revenue increased by 13 percent excluding exchange rate fluctuations.
The sportswear manufacturer’s operating profit jumped 82 percent to 610 million euros from 336 million euros in the first quarter of last year.
Adidas will present detailed and final data for the quarter on April 29.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, adidas shares were up 1.95 percent, while the stock exchange’s DAX index was down 0.76 percent.
