“Our goal is to be the No.1 choice!”
Trade magazin spoke to Ferenc B. Tóth, country manager of myPOS in Central and Eastern Europe about the company’s plans, vision and solutions.
– myPOS has recently acquired IQOM as a long-term partner, which is working with brands such as Coca-Cola HBC and IKEA. What is the significance of this acquisition?

B. Tóth Ferenc,

országigazgatója
– myPOS’ strategy is to become a dominant player on the European market. IQOM’s becoming a part of myPOS reinforces this strategy. Our original objective was to continue our expansion in the region.
– Although myPOS is primarily known as a payment service provider, the company is now emphasising its trade facilitator role. How does the integration of IQOM reinforce this vision towards Hungarian retailers?
– myPOS has defined the philosophy of “all-in-one” service as its main goal, whether it is Soft POS payment acceptance via a physical POS device, online or smartphone. As part of the basic service, all customers are provided with a business bank account and a debit card free of charge, and the tip function allows you to transfer extra money received at the end of the day to the waiters, tax-free and without extra costs. In Hungary we have also developed an NTAK-certified (National Tourism Data Supply Centre ) e-receipt solution that not only makes it possible for catering establishments to automatically fulfil their data reporting obligations, but also allows businesses to issue receipts and invoices – the latter is already being integrated into the NAV (National tax and Customs Administration) system.
IQOM has a deep knowledge of the Hungarian market. How will myPOS leverage this local expertise to offer more personalised solutions to Hungarian SMEs?
– Our main target group is the SME sector and together with myPOS we can integrate their actual needs much better. myPOS aims to provide customers with excellent, easy-to-use products and services, which is why we use outstanding tools such as the myPOS Ultra, which is currently the best bank card reader terminal on the market. myPOS is a secure, verified financial institution where customer funds are continuously available.

Terminal off: the aim is to strengthen the all-in-one service
Besides payment acceptance, what other services does myPOS offer to retailers to help them simplify their operations and grow?
– We are just introducing secure age verification on unattended devices. This is a digital filing solution that we are implementing in partnership with GoodID.
What are myPOS’ plans for Hungary and Central and Eastern European after the acquisition of IQOM?
– The region has great growth potential and we will manage 12 countries from Budapest, from the Baltic to the Mediterranean. Growth requires partnerships and joining us as a reseller is an excellent opportunity for new partners. We have programme for wholesalers in which accepting credit card payments is a big advantage.

Terminal on: myPOS supports growth
What makes myPOS different on a competitive market such as Hungary in terms of support for SMEs?
– Businesses need more and more tools. The more integrated these systems are and the more coherently they can work within a given framework, the bigger the advantage for the business. This is a very complex process that many companies haven’t even started to work on, but we have been doing it and making it available for years. (x)
