Experts expect persistently high or rising pork prices, which theoretically can increase the domestic livestock, that has been shrinking for years. However, the “one sow – a house” program, if it would be implemented, would not be able to provide raw material for the meat industry.
According to KSH figures published yesterday; between January-August of 2011 a 14.4 percen price increase occurred at live animals and animal products and 40.6 percent price increase at herbal products, compared to the same period of the last year. The high food prices will continue to remain- shows the yesterday published forecast of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) – reports Világgazdaság Online.
