Auchan is holding an auction
This time, Auchan is not organizing a sale, but – no typo – an auction. Similar to the art trade, valuable small and large household appliances, smart TVs, smartphones, laptops and high-value board games are put up for auction in Auchan hypermarkets on Saturday afternoon. The starting price of the products starts at 25% of the store prices. Regular customers with Bizalom cards can participate in the unusual auction.
As you know, since the end of last year, Auchan has been trying to improve the shopping experience with special commercial activities. Based on their research, in addition to a good price and a wide selection, it is also very important to customers how they feel while shopping. Before Christmas last year, late night shopping was organized for regular customers with Bizalomkártós and they were treated to a similar, extra shopping opportunity before Easter, at the VIP Customers’ Breakfast. Then came the Treasure Basket, when 60 pre-assembled product baskets could be taken away with a 60% discount, but the customer could only find out the exact contents of the packages after payment. Luck took the main role in the balloon activity a few weeks ago, when the participants found out what product they had won from the coupon that fell out of the burst balloon in the case of a purchase over HUF 5,000.
Now, between 4 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, their regular customers are waiting for another unusual event in the hypermarkets, because they are organizing an auction at the so-called from non-food products. A total of 46 items are put up for auction per store. The range is different in each store, but we can find ovens, stoves, refrigerators, DIY machines, smartphones, smart TVs, valuable LEGO toys, laptops, blenders, robot machines, and electric toothbrushes. Bizalom cardholders registered in the Auchan loyalty program can still participate in the auction. The starting price will be extremely low, bidding starts at less than a quarter of the products’ retail price. 100-150 buyers are admitted to the auction. The auctioneers will bid the displayed products one by one, starting from the lowest priced product to the highest. An important rule is that the bet can only be raised with one bidding ladder at a time. The product purchased at the auction must be paid for immediately at the checkout, after payment the winner will receive it, and can immediately arrange for the validation of the warranty card and, if necessary, home delivery. After that, of course, you can come back and bid on other products. However, knocked-down items must be paid for immediately, otherwise the item will be re-auctioned.
