From August, the range of beverages in the restaurants will expand
From the first of August at the latest, the supply of beverages in restaurants can be expanded: by then, contractual practices must be brought into line with the new rules of the Commercial Act. As a general rule, exclusive contracts can no longer be concluded with the largest suppliers, and from August, all restaurants will be able to offer products to consumers from at least two different manufacturers, Origo learned from the experts of the Hungarian Competition Authority.
The trade law was amended last December. The purpose of the amendment was to reduce exclusivity in the domestic catering industry, ie for service providers to offer their products from a single manufacturer to their guests. The measure will also help smaller beverage producers to enter and expand. (origo)
