In August, euro area inflation slowed down
The pace of consumer price increases in the euro area has been reduced in August – the European Union’s statistical office, the Eurostat annonced on Friday in its preliminary estimate.
According to Eurostat data, euro area inflation declined to 2.0 percent in August from the 2.1 percent of July.
Annual energy prices showed a 9.2 percent increase in August after the 9.5 percent of July. The price of food and luxury goods increased by 2.5 percent in August, compared to a year ago. (MTI)
