The use of certain acetamiprid-containing pesticides will change from mid-August due to the reduction of the limit value
According to the European Commission Regulation*, the residue limits permitted for the acetamiprid active ingredient in certain plant products will be changed from 19 August 2025. The measure is based on a new toxicological assessment by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), which found that the current permitted pesticide residue limits for several crops exceeded the acute reference dose, making it necessary to reduce them.

Nébih amended the authorisation documents of the affected preparations, this sometimes resulted in the cancellation of crops and the reduction of doses. Based on the Commission Regulation, the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih), which is responsible for the authorisation of pesticides, reviewed and amended the marketing and use authorisation documents of the affected preparations. The reduction of the maximum residue level (MRL) of pesticides required by the regulation affects the use of currently authorised products, resulting in the cancellation of crops or reduction of doses, as well as the modification of the withdrawal period. The application of the new residue level of products containing the active ingredient acetamiprid will become mandatory from 19 August 2025. The products affected by the modification can be used until 18 August 2025 in the case of cancelled crops, based on the label text currently on the market.
