A survey on feminine values: protecting the family comes first
GfK Roper Reports Worldwide 2011 examined which are the most important values for Hungarians and for the citizens of another 25 countries. Protecting the family was number one in the top 10 of values – both in Hungary and in the region. Taking a look at the list, we can see that in 2011 those values which influence everyday life are more important for women, e.g. being satisfied with one’s job, having deep emotional relationships, lasting love, etc. Compared with the 2007 survey, emotions, human relations and stability became more important. Hungarians think that responsibility, honesty, good manners and politeness are the four characteristics that parents have to strengthen in their children; women considered honesty and tolerance more important than men. Hungarian women spend 39 hours a week with their husband or with somebody who is important to them. They do 29 hours of paid work per week and spend 16 hours with cooking, cleaning and other housework. They have 13 hours for relaxing and 9 hours for personal hygiene.
