Gorenje-Hisense celebrates its 75th anniversary in Hungary with above-average business results and exciting new products
Gorenje Magyarország Kft. celebrated its 75th anniversary with outstanding revenue and nearly 10% growth. At the anniversary press conference, Managing Director Norbert Füle presented the business results, followed by an introduction to the latest innovations and new products of the Gorenje-Hisense brands.
A record-breaking year on the Hungarian market
In 2024, Gorenje closed its strongest year ever: the company’s net revenue reached HUF 41.4 billion, marking a growth of nearly 9.67% compared to the same period in 2023. Growth was seen across all product categories, including a 5.7% increase in the still dominant large household appliance segment, where the company remains market leader.
Refrigerators, ovens and washing machines continue to top the sales charts, while small appliances and televisions also delivered outstanding results: with 32% growth, Hisense became the third largest player in the domestic TV market.
“The 75-year-old Gorenje proves its strength not only with its history but with forward-looking developments: we closed 2024 with market-leading growth in Hungary while introducing innovations that are transforming everyday life at home. Our goal is to set the pace in design, sustainability and technology for the coming decade.”
– emphasized Norbert Füle, Managing Director of Gorenje Magyarország Kft.
Innovations and new launches at the anniversary event
At the press conference, participating journalists were not only informed about past and present successes, but were also the first to learn about the group’s 2025 innovations and product launches. Experts from the company presented the upcoming summer novelties, including Hisense built-in kitchen appliances, the latest Red Dot Design award-winning Gorenje kitchen products, and the newest generation of Gorenje air conditioning systems. The latest generation of Hisense TVs also made its debut at the event.
75 years of progress, sustainability and design
Gorenje’s story began in 1950 in a small Slovenian village. Since then, the company has sold over 127 million large appliances worldwide, is present in 60 countries, and is a market leader in the Adriatic region. The brand is deeply committed to sustainability: in 2024 it was awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis, received a Green Star certificate in 2023, and aims for 96% waste recycling and 100% recyclable packaging. Gorenje is also a frontrunner in design: it collaborates with world-renowned designers and has won numerous international awards.
