Aldi to kick off 2026 with a comprehensive pay raise
Aldi Hungary will start 2026 with a comprehensive wage increase: according to the company, all its employees in Hungary can expect higher wages, to varying degrees depending on the region and job title. The aim of the wage increase is to maintain wage competitiveness and a predictable income trajectory.
The company emphasized that at Aldi, wage increases and entry into a higher wage bracket occur automatically, based on years of employment, without individual wage negotiations.
Rising store and logistics wages

From January 1, the gross monthly wage of newly joining store employees will increase to HUF 541,900 for full-time work. After one year of employment, this amount is 562,600 forints, while the highest salary available in the job is 750,600 forints.
For manual workers working in the Biatorbágy logistics center, the starting salary is 600,100 forints gross, which increases to 623,100 forints after one year, and the upper salary range reaches 795,200 forints gross.
Store managers: crossing the one million mark
The salary increase also affects the managers of Aldi’s 187 stores in Hungary. The starting salary of store managers will be HUF 1,003,500 gross from 2026, which may increase up to HUF 1,549,500 gross depending on length of service.
Salaries are also increasing at Aldi’s IT subsidiary, Aldi International IT Services Kft.: new entrants can expect a minimum gross monthly salary of HUF 679,200, which will increase to HUF 752,300 after one year.
Salaries held in a competitive labor market
“From 2026, the starting salary of store managers will exceed HUF 1 million, while we will also further increase the gross salary in store and logistics positions. wages. Our goal remains the same: to provide predictable income and automatic salary development for all our employees,” said Bernhard Haider, National Managing Director of ALDI Hungary Food Bt.
In addition to wages, the company also provides additional benefits, including health screenings and daily fresh fruit and vegetables. The move is in line with the increasing competition in the retail labor market, especially with the entry of newly emerging international discount chains.
