Comprehensive food rescue programme at Lidl
Lidl Magyarország is actively involved in the global fight against food waste through its comprehensive food rescue programme.
As part of the nationwide “Save it!” initiative, wonky fruit and vegetables and the previous day’s bakery products are offered to customers at discounted prices. With the help of partner organisations, this year the discounter helped nearly 1,000 people. For instance at the Campus and SZIN festivals Lidl partnered with the Hungarian Food Bank Association to support poor people living in the Debrecen and Szeged area. //
