Hungary’s most efficient market-based solar power plant was handed over in Szihalm
After the successful trial runs, the most modern and at the same time the most productive solar power plant in Szihalmon in the Heve county was launched and handed over today in a ceremonial setting. The installation purpose of the 69 MWp power plant is also unusual: the investment realized in cooperation between Solar Markt and Green Cloud is the first solar power plant in Hungary that was built specifically to provide domestic companies with green electricity, thus helping them in their green transition aimed at reducing their carbon emissions. Csaba Lantos, minister of energy and Imre Mécs, president of the Solar Markt Group, founder and co-owner of Green Cloud, spoke at the ceremony.
Increasing the share of green energy and one of the important aspects of the decarbonization goals is now receiving a particularly strong driving force: the Sihalm solar power plant is unique in that it was built dedicated to meeting the energy needs of Hungarian companies, thus Green Cloud opens a new chapter in the energy green transition of Hungarian companies and the Solar Markt.
The power plant handed over today is a milestone in the domestic energy sector from several points of view: the technology built into the power plant, as well as the software and adaptive solutions used for its operation, represent the forefront of the world, thus the Sihalmi power plant represents the new generation of domestic solar power plants. The associated service package, designed for the green transition of companies, is also unique, because it recreates the practice of long-term green electricity supply (for example, PPA) in an innovative way: it always provides electricity to its customers, tailored to the customer’s energy needs, regardless of the specifics of the weather-dependent green energy supply. Based on the Sihalmi solar power plant, Hungarian companies can purchase clean energy produced in Hungary as part of the Green Cloud Service Package in a customized manner, with maximum flexibility and minimal risk-taking, while reducing their environmental burden (carbon emissions) by up to 100%.
