The new store format has a floor space of just 18m², it is open 0-24 hours and the unmanned smart store operates utilising an AI-based camera system and shelves equipped with weight sensors. Everything is in compliance with GDPR regulations. Customers can enter using the OkAuchan app and the entire purchase can be processed through the app, including payment.
“This new format is an interesting experiment for Auchan Magyarország”, told Géza Vincze, CEO of Auchan Magyarország. Auchan’s technology partner is Kende Retail Operation Kft., an innovative tech start-up that aims to take the shopping experience to a new level by using cutting-edge technology.
“Innovation and adaptation to retailer and customer needs is a priority for us. We believe this partnership will start a new era in retail”, said Tibor Székács, CEO of Kende Retail Operation Kft. //
