New FrieslandCampina production facility starts production
Production has officially started in FrieslandCampina Hungária Zrt.’s new HUF 650-million production hall in Mátészalka. Róbert Zsigó, state secretary for food chain supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture opened the new hall. FrieslandCampina started restructuring its supply chain in 2013 by concentrating its logistics operations in Budapest, where 24 new jobs were created. The next step was modernising the Mátészalka factory and building the new production hall, where 50 people found their new jobs – at the moment the company has 300 employees in Mátészalka. CEO Péter Szautner told that they are dedicated to serve the needs of Hungarian customers and to produce in Hungary. The Mátészalka investment contributes to improving the company’s competitiveness and innovation activity, while it also ensures that domestic production capacity is maintained. Talks are underway to sell the Debrecen factory, which if sold will also produce for FrieslandCampina
