Restructuring, not restoration
Market research company NPD asked the opinion of 71,000 consumers and found that shopping habits changed for good, there is no hope for restoring them. The cake has become smaller and consumers are turning to cheaper stores. What changed the most is consumers’ attitude towards brands: irrespective of categories they now keep in mind 20 percent more brands.
