The digital nutrition labeling system for wine products will be launched in April
The National Council of Mountain Communities (HNT) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) will launch a digital nutrition labeling system for wine products on April 1 in accordance with an EU regulation – announced Zsolt Feldman, State Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture at a press conference on Tuesday, in Budapest.
He explained: according to the new European Union wine labeling rules, wines produced and labeled after December 8, 2023 must display information about the nutritional value, additives and ingredients broken down into 100 milliliter portions.
He pointed out: on the one hand, the new EU regulations help consumers find their way around, but at the same time, they represent an administrative burden for producers.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Nébih and HNT, they offer a quick and simple solution by making the product information available on a central website (winelabel.hu) via a QR code on the wine bottle.
