Industrial production fell by 5.0 percent in April
In April 2025, the volume of industrial production fell by 5.0, or 2.3 percent, adjusted for working days, compared to a year earlier. Based on seasonally and working day-adjusted data, industrial output was 1.5 percent higher than in March 2025, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday, based on its first estimate.
The volume of production decreased in the vast majority of manufacturing sub-sectors compared to the same month of the previous year. Among the most important sub-sectors, there was a decline in vehicle manufacturing, electrical equipment manufacturing, and food, beverage and tobacco manufacturing, while the production of computers, electronics, and optical products expanded.
In the first four months of the year, industrial production was 4.5 percent lower than in the same period of 2024, the KSH announced.
