Anuga 2009: New Releases and high quality; trying to meet with the changing needs of the consumers
The first four days from the World’s greatest food fair, with Hungarian eyes – Bajai Ernő reports from Cologne:
– This is the 11th Anuga, in which we participate. Now the buyers became cautious. Buying smaller items but a huge variety of products. And also there is a stronger than normal pressure, to crack down the prices – said Losó József, the director of the Mirsa refrigeration company.
– All the important participants of the market are here – said Giacomo Pendranzini CEO of Kométa 99. My impression is that the exhibitors and visitors has larger interests of information needs, than enthusiasm. But however, the majority of the companies seek for new releases, high-quality products to meet consumers' changing needs, and investing in marketing, and this is what we do at Kométa.
On Tuesday at the drinks sector, the usual trend forum was followed by great interest. The representatives of German Zukunftsinstitut (= future researcher) Ltd. presented their forecasts.
– Health is the keyword, which opens the door for all market – stated Dr. Matthias Horx, the director of the Institute, author of several books. – First, health mean reduction. Less alcoholic content, less sugar or additives.
