The World Health Organization (WHO) and Interpol issued an alert on an illegal wieght loss aid.
The dangerous substance is called 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP briefly) – the National Public Health and Medical Officer Service (ÁNTSZ) informed MTI on Wednesday.
According to the notice, “even small amounts can cause potentially fatal, severe intoxication.” The DNP was originally used for industrial aims. It was banned both in 1938 and 2003. (MTI)
