When Tesco finished 22nd
The ranking of food retail companies started with a Top 50 list way back in the past. In 1994, Áfeosz was number one (with a turnover of HUF 110 billion), followed by the Fotex Group and Csemege Julius Meinl. In the 4th position we found Alfa-Trade, followed by Centrum Áruházak, Plus, Kaiser’s, Bakony Füszért and Duna Füszért/Profi. From today’s giants Spar was 9th, Metro was 10th, CBA 17th and Global TH/Tesco 22nd (with a turnover of HUF 5 billion).
