US-Russian negotiations on chlorinated chickens
The U.S. government has initiated negotiations with the Russian Government, after Russia banned the imports of poultry cleaned with chlorinated agents from 1st of January. The delegation of American experts will travel to Moscow, at the end of next week.
Russia imported poultry products from the United States in 2008, for 801 million USD. With this, Russia was the largest foreign market of the U.S. poultry industry. But the Russian ban, that was introduced last week affects the U.S. exporters primarily, because in the United States, it is a common practice to disinfect the cutted birds, with chlorine – reports ProfitLine.hu.
