The IDEA draw conclusions on sales decrease of chips and soft drinks from American experiences

The Institute for Democratic Alternative (IDEA), analyzed the possible scenarios of the introduction of the public health product regulation.

The Government intends that the revenues from the new tax would be paid into the Health Protection Fund, financing the promotion of healthy nutrition and public health programs. It is a stated intention that the revenues would remain in health-care and do not raise funds of the central budget.

The IDEA estimates that around 20 billion HUF expected revenue will come from the public health product fee, which is substantially equal to the amount expected by the government – reports Világgazdaság Online.
