AM: new trademark system guarantees the high quality of food
The Ministry of Agriculture (AM) introduces a two-tier trademark system guaranteeing high quality, which, among other things, helps to inform the public, guarantees quality and contributes to the development of a general food consumption culture – Zsigó Róbert, Minister of State responsible for Food Chain Supervision said at a press conference on Wednesday in Budapest.ű
The qualification behind the High Quality Food (KME) Trademark System is carried out by the National Food Chain Safety Agency (Nébih), and is implemented by all participants in the food chain. The trademark system will have two stages: the basic level can be applied for by any producer, while the gold degree will be awarded on the basis of additional independent examinations, covering the food safety and quality of the product – the Minister of State told.
