AM: good harvest is expected
Harvest has begun with harvesting autumn barley. The preliminary estimates suggest that, despite weather conditions, over-than-average yields of 7.7 million tons of field crops are expected from 1.6 million hectares – the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) said on Thursday at a press conference in Budapest.
Feldman Zsolt, following the meeting of the Harvest Coordination Committee, explained that it is estimated that this year’s crop will be 2 percent less than last year’s and will be 6.6 percent less, compared to the average of the past 5 years. (MTI)
