AM: calls for tenders to support investments in processing plants have been published
The government regards the food industry as a strategic sector, so the sector can count on special support opportunities in the coming years as well. Within the framework of the KAP Strategic Plan until 2027, with a total budget of HUF 200 billion, two new calls for tenders have been published to support the development of processing plants – Minister of Agriculture István Nagy announced on Friday, according to the ministry’s announcement.
The minister drew attention to the fact that the call for support for larger, complex projects entitled “Support for the complex development of processing plants” will be announced with a budget of HUF 150 billion, while the call for funds for “Support for the development of processing plants” focusing on smaller-scale investments will be announced with a budget of HUF 50 billion. In the former, those intending to develop can apply for between HUF 200 million and HUF 5 billion in support, and in the latter for a maximum of HUF 200 million, that is, the two tenders build on each other and complement each other.
Both published calls support the construction and renovation of buildings related to the processing of agricultural products, the purchase of new tools and machines, the development of new technological systems, as well as energy upgrades – explained the head of the ministry.
In relation to developments, the fund’s support intensity is 50 percent, but in some cases this can increase to 70 percent. On the basis of the content evaluation system defined in the calls for proposals, projects that have proven added value, are financially sound, and for which the investor maintains long-term business relations with its production partners can expect to receive the development funding – emphasized István Nagy.
