AM: focus on innovation opportunities in the Hungarian aquaculture sector
Charlina Vitcheva, Director General of the Directorate-General for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs (DG MARE), visited Hungary on 21-23 June 2022 at the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture to learn about the domestic strengths and challenges of the Hungarian aquaculture sector and to meet key players, the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) told MTI on Wednesday.
The statement recalled that the UN General Assembly had declared 2022 the International Year of Small-Scale Fisheries and Aquaculture. The sector accounts for 40 percent of the world’s fishing catch and provides a livelihood for almost 500 million people worldwide. (MTI)
