According to the information, within the framework of the call RRF-4.2.1-23 – “Attitude-raising campaign related to sustainable agricultural water use” related to the Attitude-raising reform of the Water Management component of the Recovery and Resilience Plan of Hungary, the Ministry of Agriculture implemented its project with more than 31.87 million forints of EU non-refundable support. The project aims to draw attention to the importance of sustainable agricultural water use and to present practical solutions that promote the application of water-saving methods, the retention of water in place, and the benefits of community cooperation. The project supports farmers and sustainable water management communities at a national level in adapting to the challenges caused by climate change, the statement said. It was explained that professional publications were produced within the framework of the project, a national media campaign was implemented, a short film presented good practices, and conferences and online trainings helped transfer knowledge. A total of more than 800 people participated in the trainings, and the awareness-raising activities are directly related to the tasks of the Ministry of Agriculture related to agricultural water management. As a result of the project, the awareness of sustainable water use solutions has increased nationwide, and according to surveys, they are being applied on more than 67 thousand hectares, they emphasized. The project ended on January 31, 2026. The project does not create new jobs, but at the same time it contributes to maintaining the long-term competitiveness of agriculture and preserving water resources, the statement said.
