AM Secretary of State: the proportion of Hungarian products in public catering should be increased
The share of domestic products in public catering must be raised to 60 percent from 1 January 2022 and to 80 percent from 1 January 2023, which is already included in the public catering contracts concluded from 1 September this year, the Secretary State of the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) said at a conference in Kecskemét on Friday.
Erdős Norbert added that the change was necessary because the proportion of Hungarian products in public catering is 50 percent.
The Secretary of State pointed out that the proportion of Hungarian products in retail stores is 70 percent on average: in Hungarian retail chains this proportion is more than 80 percent, and in foreign retail chains it is 60 percent, but there are some where it barely exceeds 50 percent. (MTI)
