AM: the overwhelming majority of Hungarian poultry is kept well
The vast majority of Hungarian poultry is kept well, because most farmers keep animals in better condition than required by the regulations – the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture told M1 news channel.
Feldman Zsolt said that however, the animal welfare commitments going beyond the regulations would entail additional costs for farmers and would be supported by the government. He said that this year, 13 billion forints are available for the poultry welfare program, for which poultry farmers can submit applications by 15 April. (MTI)
