Kaufland To Introduce Aluminium Lids In ‘K-To Go’ Milkshakes
German retailer Kaufland has announced plans to replace plastic lids from all ‘K-to go’ milkshakes with aluminium lids, beginning from October this year.
In March 2019, the retailer replaced plastic lids in its ‘K-to go’ coffee range with the aluminium alternative.
Helena Gauerhof from Kaufland’s own-brand purchasing department commented, “The implementation of this new [lid can save] a total of over 55 tonnes of plastic [from the packaging] of all products across the entire country. This is a contribution to REset Plastic – the plastic strategy of the Schwarz Group.”
In May of this year, the retailer was recognised by the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) for the innovative lid.
