Apple consumption promotional campaign has been launched

This year a record harvest is expected of apples. The sales have became more difficult, due to the Russian embargo, so the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) helps the promotion of apple consumption with several measures – Kurucz Éva government spokeswoman told at the press conference of the Minister of Agriculture on Wednesday in Budapest.

Kurucz Éva government spokeswoman explained that according to the professional forecasts this year, about 780-800 thousand tonnes of apple crop is expected, which is 40 percent higher than the average of the last few years. The Hungarian apple growers are in a a hard situation, because they have losses, because of the Russian embargo that threatens their livelihoods. Therefore the government encourage apple consumption and supports them financially. (MTI)
