NAV investigated restaurants advertising jobs, the workers were not registered
The National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) also examines, following the announcements of electronic job search platforms, whether employers comply with the rules for reporting employees.
The staff of the office also controlled several companies based on the public data of a new generation, fast and flexible recruitment application.
This time, they focused on the catering sector, which is struggling with a labor shortage, as the undeclared employment of unskilled, casual workers is common in this area. Although the conditions of the application’s user agreement include the criterion of fulfilling tax obligations, according to experience, not all employers who post advertisements comply with this, said the NAV. The tax inspectors inspected eight advertisers in one action, and found a total of six undeclared employees in three of them. After the failure, a fine of more than 3.5 million forints is expected to be imposed, and one company was even ordered by the NAV to close for 12 days.
