Startups Present Sustainable Packaging Concepts To Aldi Nord, Aldi Süd
Seven startups have presented sustainable packaging concepts to Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd, following a campaign in association with accelerator TechFounders.
In January, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd announced their cooperation with TechFounders in order to promote sustainable solutions and innovations together with the startups.
The discounters received 80 applications in total. Seven startups have gone on to present their concepts to the retailers, with two or three going on to work with the retailer going forward.
Startup concepts include edible straws made from apple fibers as well as intelligent waste separation systems, environmentally friendly shopping bag, and recyclable packaging for drugstore items.
This program is part of Aldi’s packaging mission ‘Vermeiden. Wiederverwenden. Recyceln’ (Reduce. Reuse. Recycle).
