Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Spar? Research is launched to find the cheapest place to shop
The Financial Center and the University of Debrecen are launching joint research. As part of the research, consumers are asked which food chain stores they can shop at the cheapest and which chain stores they can shop at the most expensive, in their opinion.
According to the latest data, in November 2022, consumer prices in Hungary were on average 22.5 percent higher than a year earlier, but the annual average inflation of food products rose by almost double that, 43.8 percent. And by the end of the year, we reached the point where we were first in the European Union, both in terms of average inflation and the average increase in the price of food.
