ALDI: the leader in green solutions
ALDI operates 139 stores in Hungary and the secret of their success is that people are the most important in their set of values – be it customers or workers.

ALDI offers high quality products and services to shoppers, and good work conditions, professional progress and a good salary to workers. Being an exemplary employer, ALDI won the ‘Reliable Employer’ prize of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DUIHK) in 2017-2018 and 2019-2020.
In ALDI’s wine selection Hungarian wines with a good price-value ratio are more and more important. ALDI sells as many fresh fruits and vegetables sourced from Hungarian farmers as possible. The discount supermarket chain pays special attention to consumers living with some kind of food intolerance: they can choose from more than 100 Enjoy Free! gluten- and lactose-free products. For health-conscious consumers they offer low-sugar, low-carb and low-fat and protein-fortified New Lifestyle products. ALDI Hungary’s private label products won in five categories in the Mentes-M competition.
Since 2017 ALDI has been providing the 52,000m² logistics centre in Biatorbágy and all stores with green electricity. They will use 100-percent recyclable packaging with all private label products by 2025. Cooperating with E.ON, in 2019 there will be 360 e-car charging plugs installed at 123 ALDI stores of 75 towns and villages.
In 2016 ALDI first opened a pop-up store at a music festival. In the 2019 festival season, which lasts from June to September, ALDI’s pop-up stores return with an expanded concept and a new design. They will be there at the Children’s Island, VOLT Festival, Balaton Sound, Sziget Festival and the SZIN Festival in Szeged. (x)
