According to their data, the producer price of slaughter pigs decreased by almost 30 percent in the third week of the year compared to the same period in 2025. The processing sales prices of pork also decreased for the most part, with minced pork by more than 10 percent and boneless pork legs by almost 20 percent. Retail purchase prices developed similarly, most of them decreasing by at least 10 percent year-on-year. Feed for fattening pigs costs about the same as a year ago – they wrote.

AKI also analyzed the poultry market

According to its summary, the producer price of broiler chickens has remained almost unchanged for a year, as has the selling price of eggs from deep-litter farms at the packing station. Eggs from cage farms have increased in price by an average of about 3 percent in a year. The difference in egg prices is greater on wholesale markets, with an annual increase of over 10 percent in Budapest, while in rural towns there is mostly no increase in price or a decrease of a few percent, they said.
