According to the analysis, it has rained on several days and in several places over the past week, but very little, and the amount of precipitation has remained below 5 millimeters almost nationwide over the past 10 days. The 90-day precipitation total is significantly below average in almost the entire country, by about 40-130 millimeters. The upper 30-60-centimeter layer of the soil in the western half of Transdanubia and in the northern part of the country contains plenty of moisture, while this layer is also dry in a large area in the Great Plain, while the soil deeper than 50-60 centimeters is very dry almost nationwide. The temperature over the past 6-8 days has been roughly in line with the multi-year average, with peak values mostly rising to around 15 and 20 degrees Celsius in the second half of last week, then dropping 2-3 degrees this week.
Due to the relatively high cloud cover, night frosts only developed in the clearer areas on Tuesday and Thursday
The harvest of corn and fruits is still underway, and dry, warm weather would be favorable for this. However, soaking rain would be urgently needed for the development of rapeseed and the preparation of the soil for sowing autumn cereals, especially in the southern part of the country. According to the forecast, the weather will remain mostly dry, with a weak cold front arriving on Saturday, behind which colder and drier air will arrive than before, so weak night frosts are expected in many places from Sunday to Tuesday. The peak temperature will drop to 9-14 degrees on Sunday, then from Monday the higher air layers will start to warm up, and by the middle of next week the frosts will disappear, and the daytime warming will increase. From Wednesday a strong westerly flow will develop in our region, which will repeatedly bring moist air over us, so we should expect more precipitation from the middle of the week.
