According to the analysis, scattered showers and thunderstorms occurred last week. In most parts of the country, there was no rain or just a few drops of rain, but in the east and northwest, 10-30 millimeters fell in some places, despite this, the lack of precipitation continued to increase. The precipitation total of the past 30 days is mostly 20-40 millimeters below the multi-year average. Near the surface, the soil layer is only moist in the northeast and on the western border, it is increasingly dry elsewhere, and the upper one-meter soil layer is mostly missing 60-100 millimeters of precipitation.
The drought is spreading over an ever-larger area and is intensifying: most of the country is experiencing a mild or moderate agricultural drought
Regarding the temperature, it was written that the real summer heat arrived on the last day of May with maximums close to 30 degrees Celsius, and the heat intensified further this week, the first heat wave of this summer has arrived. As it was written, arable crops are suffering more and more, and this will also be reflected in the average yields. The autumn sowings are in good condition in the areas with more rainfall, rapeseed is in the seed formation phase and wheat is in the flowering-ear development phase, but their condition is weaker in the lowland areas with a lack of rainfall.
The cool and low-precipitation May was not optimal for their development, but the current high heat is not favorable either, these plants urgently need rainfall
Corn and sunflowers love the summer heat, but the lack of precipitation also affects these crops a lot, as corn develops deeper roots in such weather. According to the forecast, the next 8-10 days will not bring Medárd weather. The heat will increase until Sunday, and then a cold front will arrive on the last day of the week, which will bring about a 10-degree drop. Precipitation will only be scattered, mostly showers and thunderstorms are expected on Sunday, the soils will continue to dry out, and the drought will intensify.
