Agrometeorology: milder and drier weather than usual is expected
The weather will be milder and drier than usual in the next seven days, HungaroMet Zrt. wrote in its agrometeorological analysis on Thursday.
They wrote that several weather fronts affected the country in the past week, and the temperature was highly variable, for example last week on Thursday in a large part of the country it was 7-13 degrees Celsius warmer than the previous day, and then on Friday it cooled down to the same extent the time is back. During the night, there was frost between minus 5 and minus 12 degrees in several places, but since the beginning of the week the weather has been milder again.
In the last ten days, more precipitation than usual has fallen in most parts of the country
Only in the northeast does the surplus exceed 10 millimeters, while a significant part of Transdanubia has a small deficit. The amount of precipitation that has fallen throughout the country since the last week of October is significantly more than usual for this period, the upper one-meter layer of the soil is almost saturated throughout the country, and water is even reaching the deeper layers, which means a favorable outlook for the coming year. The small amount of ground frost that appeared in many places in the middle of January has now been released in most places and occurs only in places at a depth of 5 centimeters.
There are inland water spots in the country, mainly in the Great Plains, and their extent has increased again over the past week
Autumn crops where there is no permanent inland water are in relatively good condition. Pathogens and pests, although they were decimated by the frosty weather that started in the second week of January, would need a more lasting cold in order for them to decrease significantly, they wrote.
The weather is forecast to be warmer and drier than normal for the next week or so
From Friday evening, rain is expected in many places, snow rain is expected in the northeast, and then drier weather is expected again, but in some areas, you should prepare for persistently humid and foggy weather. From Sunday, frosty nights will return with temperatures around 0 to minus 8 degrees, and the maximum values will mostly be between 3 and 10 degrees. MTI
