The moisture content of the upper 50 centimeter layer between the Danube and Tisza, on the eastern edge of Transdanubia, and on the western half of the Maros-Körös region is critically dry. There is a drought in the central part of the country, severe drought in some places. The temperature was 3-4 degrees Celsius higher than usual at this time, in the middle of last week the daily maximums were around 30 degrees, at the end of the week they were already close to 35 degrees, and then the heat moderated at the beginning of the week.

Sunflowers and corn are blooming, they need the most moisture now, 100 millimeters of rain per month would be ideal for their development. According to the forecast, a good harvest time is expected. The soil will dry out a lot, and the extent of the drought area will increase. The temperature is rising, the peak temperature above 30 degrees, close to 35 degrees is likely.
