Agrometeorology: canola would need a lot of rain
Rapeseed would need a lot of rainfall, because the sown seeds do not germinate in the dry soil in many places, or only with difficulty, the National Meteorological Service wrote in its agrometeorological analysis on Thursday.
According to the analysis, the 30-day precipitation amount almost all over the country shows a significant deficit of 20-70 millimeters compared to the long-term average, and although the rains experienced in the past few days in the west and north moistened the upper layers, the deeper layers are critically dry in most of the country. In recent days, the temperature has been around 4-5 degrees Celsius higher than usual, the peak values have been between 25 and 30 degrees, they added.
The corn is ripe, it no longer needs rain, and dry, warm weather would be favorable for harvesting the sunflower and achieving favorable grain moisture
Autumn cabbage rape is typically already in the germination and emergence phase, and although the moisture content of the upper layer of the soil was favorable for the preparation of the seed bed, sowing and germination of the seeds in the first decade of the month in most parts of the country, since then, however, in most parts of the country, the moisture content of the upper layer has become more and more dry. soil, and abundant rainfall would be needed for optimal early development of the plant – they wrote.
According to the forecast of the meteorological service, a slowing frontal system will arrive over Hungary during the weekend
This can bring significant precipitation over a large area, so there is a good chance that the upper soil layer, which is important for rapeseed, will be sufficiently moistened in most of the country. Dry, sunny weather will return next week, and no major cooling is expected, so the weather will be favorable for harvesting and ripening.
