Agrometeorology: to sow rapeseed, it is essential to moisten the soil
There is enough moisture in the soil to sow autumn cabbage rape only in small patches, the soil layer affected by sowing is very dry and dusty in most parts of the country – HungaroMet Zrt. wrote in its agrometeorological analysis on Thursday.
They wrote: the dry, hot weather continued for the past week, the amount of precipitation for the past thirty days was only between 2 and 15 millimeters in a large part of the Great Plain and the southeast of the Transdanubia, but in some places not even that much fell. 20-60 millimeters fell mainly in the northern and northwestern regions, but this is also much less than the average for many years.

The part of the soil close to the surface in the eastern and southeastern two-thirds of the country is extremely dry and dusty, it contains some moisture only in the areas affected by heavy rains in the first half of last week, the middle and deeper soil layer is critically dry. The effects of the drought were aggravated by weather that was 6-9 degrees Celsius warmer than usual, the average temperature was between 23-28 degrees last week. The vegetation is about three weeks ahead of normal in its development, to which the drought also adds to the forced ripening of field crops. because of The sunflower and corn stocks are fully ripe, dried up, and are being harvested.
According to the forecast, the heat wave will end in the next few days, and precipitation can be expected first mainly in Transdanubia and the southern part of the country, and then from the beginning of next week elsewhere. The heat also moderates, the highest temperature is between 27-33 degrees, the heatwave is pushed back to the area of the Great Plain.
