Institute of Agricultural Economics: Domestic feed compound production increased by 4.1 percent in 2024
Hungarian mixing plants produced a total of 3.8 million tons of farm animal feed compound in 2024, an increase of 4.1 percent compared to the previous year – according to the summary of the Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI).

Of the total compound feed quantity, 1.84 million tons were poultry feed, 1.391 million tons were pig feed, and 471.9 thousand tons were cattle feed. 2.319 million tons of cereals were used for production, as well as more than 528 thousand tons of protein crops and their derivatives, and almost 314 thousand tons of oilseeds and their derivatives – they wrote. Based on the summary, the market share of the 5 largest manufacturers is still around 33 percent, having barely decreased compared to recent years. Among the counties, Hajdú-Bihar leads in terms of volume with 14.3 percent, but the most active plants operate in Bács-Kiskun, with 23 plants operating in the county last year. The data provision summarizes information from 282 plants, of which 226 plants carried out production last year – explains the AKI.
