Agricultural strategy, addressed to the government
The Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture adopted an agricultural strategy consist of 10 points on 25 June 2009. The recommendation is looking for a way out of the crisis situation of the agriculture and food industry.
According to the Hungarian Chamber, Hungary can be a long term net agricultural exporter of agriculture for the future because Hungary is able to economically produce food than the country's domestic needs. The Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture promotes fair competition in Europe, but not idly to watch, the exludion of domestic products from the domestic market. Realistic goals should be set to maintain the dominance of domestic food consumption.
Forgács Barna, President of the Chamber of Agriculture estimated that the deepest crisis has evolved in the dairy market, especially because of the false EU dairy market reform and due to the increase in quotas.
Gőgös Zoltán, State Department of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced that the Ministry of Agriculture would develop a total of 18 billion HUF program to help the dairy sector.
