Chamber of Agriculture: accurate data on the frost damages will be available at the end of May
Accurate data on the frost damages and on the fruit and vegetable crop failure rate will be available at the end of May – the leader of the Horticultural Department of the National Agricultural Chamber (NAK) told M1 news channel on Monday.
Mártonffy Béla emphasized that 24 billion HUF can be found in this year’s compensation fund. The compensation fund will be used to mitigate those farmers’ losses, whose losses as high as 30 percent.
The frost damage affected mainly grapes, apples, nuts, vegetables and maize in Somogy, Zala, Bács-Kiskun and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties. (MTI)
