Agricultural Chamber: Hungarian pork is safe
The Hungarian pork is safe, even after the appereance of the African swine fever, as the strict animal health and food safety rules exclude the infection, and the virus that was otherwise unhealthy to humans was detected only in wild boars – the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told MTI on Thursday.
It was emphasized that the Hungarian livestock farms and meat processing plants are under veterinary supervision in accordance with European Union’s regulations. However, maintaining the virus-free status is a matter of national economic interest and therefore the competent veterinarian offices should be reported as soon as possible about dead, sick or abusive wild boars.
