Agricultural Information Portal – agricultural data in one place
The Agrarian Economic Institute (AKI), which operates as a background institution of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been Hungary’s most important agricultural economic database and policy experience for many decades, performing public and state tasks. One of the most important tasks of the Institute is to develop proposals for the decision-makers of Hungarian agricultural and rural policy, to substantiate the proposals with research based on modern methods, with particular regard to the application and implementation of the common agricultural policy of the European Union in Hungary.
As the flagship of domestic agricultural digitization, the institute operates and develops EU and national information systems that are decisive for the agricultural sector, such as the Test Facility Information Network, the Market Price Information System and the Agricultural Statistics Information System. With our extensive data collection, data processing and information organization work, as well as our policy analysis and decision support activities, we help the success of Hungarian agriculture and rural areas. As a decisive step in agricultural data integration, the Agricultural Information Portal was launched, with which the data and information collected and processed by AKI are shared in one place, in tabular and interactive graphic format, according to the needs of the target groups. Data providers can more easily fulfill their data provision obligations with one-stop access and an improved user experience, or they can connect their IT systems and use the machine interface that ensures data upload. The current contents displayed in a responsive manner on the Agricultural Information Portal can be downloaded in standard data formats and are also available through a machine interface. The services were designed along the principles of “simpler, faster, better”.
